Last night was great! Nerves were at an all time low. I could tell everyone was conscientious of technique, as well as keeping their arms and feet still (he he, me.) It was exciting to hear new pieces, as well as previously sung pieces performed even better! I agree with Nollie that EVERYONE has improved. Pretty cool to see.
I haven't felt like we were a community until the last studio class. Since most people were more confortable performing in front of the whole group everyone was able to have fun. I was so proud of everyone. And like Nollie said, consistency is really starting to show. I know that fellow students probably won't read this, but I just want to remind them again that when someone is singing it is rude to talk, jingle your keys, and enter and leave. I realize that I may sound like a nag, but it drives me insane as a performer and audience memeber! I would like to have studio more often next semester. I miss having it be more like a class. Does that make sense? I like doing it with both studios but I wish we could have more. Perhaps individual studios once a month and then a big studio class with everyone once a month as well. So it would be like every month there would be a mini studio and a master studio.
A tad bit late, I will say. Better late than never I presume. I feel like this studio class was the best out of all previous studio classes. I saw less nerves, and I personally felt less nerves. There was much more vocal technique present, and more control over voicing.
